The Full Story

Our Vision

We started Rowes Retreats to bring some life and energy to a regimented and archaic holiday market. Holidays aren't what they used to be! There's a lot more flexibility and movement in how holidays are enjoyed now, with a variety of platforms and homes available. Rather than staying in one location for that 'summer holiday' there's more exploring, with trips being split up and spent in different locations.

We embrace this new direction and allow for that freedom of movement by offering no set changeover days, same day bookings, and no set minimum nights. This enables us to be open to this new way to 'holiday' while also being available to more traditional week long breaks too, we don't limit ourselves to only one type of stay.

We work with individuals that have a genuine love for Cornwall and who would like to let their homes to like minded guests who embrace and respect everything this county has to offer.

Our Story

I'm Zoe one of the founders of Rowes Retreats (RR).  After I graduated with a Masters in Law I was offered the opportunity to work in a law firm in London focussing on Contract Law. Learning on the job I covered all aspects from Contracts to European Law. Most importantly understanding the intricacies and how important the details are. Keeping up to date and adaptable was essential and an ever moving target, as is our approach in the short term rental market now. This flexible and responsive approach allows us to maintain such high occupancy rates.

I became a master of finding details and looking into things from different perspectives. The skills I've developed along the way such as a real attention to detail allows me to provide our guests and clients with a diligent experience.

Luis, the other founder of RR was selected to work as a project manager for several luxury projects in and around Belgravia. From start to finish he worked with a plethora of professions while also liaising with clients. Making sure the work was of the highest calibre and fulfilling obligations was essential. The skills he's mastered has shown him how important it is to uphold and dedicate yourself to the service you provide. Luis has also gone on to undertake his own projects in Cornwall and hopes to continue to do in the future.

Our Mission

We began our journey into the holiday market during our University years, letting out part of our home. When we went travelling we made the decision to extend this to our whole home so we could travel for longer! During our whole time away we used short term rental platforms so understand what makes homes stand out and what is essential for travellers.

We felt like it was the right time to establish RR after such an overwhelming amount of local support and appreciation of our refreshing approach to the market. The idea of RR was culminated through our love of where we live and our endless desire to travel. Between Luis and I we have managed to explore 30 countries before we were 30.

The Rowe Family

Zoe's mum and dad, Becky and Steve joined us on our journey back in 2022. Having them part of the team has been invaluable for RR and has allowed us to evolve into what we are today.

Steve has over 30 years experience in construction, working for the last 10 years in compliance for Hinkley Point Power Station. His in-depth understanding and expert knowledge creates a hands on approach to any maintenance or trade related skills that are required as part of running and managing holiday lets.

Becky worked from home for the majority of her profession, welcoming clients into the space. This has nurtured a real sense of pride and led her to understand the importance of first impressions along with meeting and exceeding expectations.
