FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Your Questions, Expertly Answered: A Transparent Approach to Holiday Letting

At Rowes Retreats, we understand that letting your holiday home is more than just a financial decision—it’s about trust, flexibility, and peace of mind. Whether you’re letting for a few months a year or running a full-time rental, our tailored services ensure that you’re always in control, your guests have an exceptional experience, and your property is well cared for.Below, we’ve answered some of the most common questions from property owners considering holiday letting with us.

  • Does R&R Offer Holiday Insurance?
While we don’t provide holiday insurance directly, we strongly recommend that all guests take out suitable insurance to cover the full cost of their stay. This ensures you’re protected in case of unforeseen circumstances that might require you to cancel your booking. For full details on our cancellation policy, please check our [Terms & Conditions].
  • Are the Prices on the R&R Website Fixed?
Yes—our prices are set annually in collaboration with property owners. The rates reflect: ✔ The exceptional quality of our properties ✔ Our tailored concierge service ✔ The fantastic facilities each retreat offers To be the first to hear about new properties, special offers, and exclusive dates, we recommend signing up for our newsletter.
  • Do You Have Set Changeover Days?
No, we believe in flexibility. While we still accommodate traditional week-long or two-week stays, we also welcome short breaks and midweek stays, allowing guests to plan their holidays around their own schedules. If you have specific date requirements, feel free to get in touch, and we’ll do our best to accommodate.
  • Is There Any Flexibility on Check-in and Check-out Times?
Our standard times are: ✔ Check-in: 4:00 PM ✔ Check-out: 10:00 AM This gives our housekeeping team enough time to professionally clean, restock, and prepare your retreat to the highest standard. Where possible, we’ll let you know on the day if your retreat is ready earlier than 4:00 PM. If you’d like to arrange an early check-in or late check-out, let us know in advance. This is subject to availability and must be approved by our housekeeping team before your arrival.
  • Why Do You Need the Names & Ages of All Guests?
This is a requirement for insurance and fire safety. Some properties may also have age-related restrictions, which will be clearly stated on the property’s page. ✔ Only guests named at the time of booking (or added before arrival) are authorised to stay at the property. ✔ This includes any guests joining or leaving partway through your stay. If you have any questions about guest requirements, just ask—we’re happy to clarify.
  • Our Group Has One Extra Guest—Can We Bring a Blow-up Bed or Use the Sofa?
Unfortunately, no. Each property is furnished, equipped, and insured for a maximum number of guests, as stated on the listing. This ensures: ✔ Your comfort and enjoyment—all retreats are designed for their maximum occupancy. ✔ Fire safety compliance—our properties adhere to strict safety regulations. Infants in travel cots are generally not included in the guest count, but if you have any questions about occupancy, just reach out, and we’ll be happy to assist.
  • Do You Accept American Express?
Yes, we do accept American Express. Please note that additional charges may apply when using this payment method.
  • Do You Store My Card Details for Auto-Payments?
No, we do not store guests’ card details. To comply with strict Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards (PCI DSS), we use a secure card processing system that saves an encrypted authorisation code. This allows us to process auto-payments without storing sensitive card information. Your security is our priority, and we handle all payments with the highest level of protection.
  • We’re a Group of Friends—Can We Split the Rental Cost?
Currently, all payments must be made in one transaction by the lead guest. This includes: ✔ The deposit to secure the booking ✔ The final balance payment ✔ The security deposit We recommend that all members of your group transfer their share to the lead guest before making payments to Rowes Retreats.
  • Is My Money Secure?
Yes. Whether you pay by card or bank transfer (BACS), your money is held in a secure client account. In the unlikely event that Rowes Retreats were to cease trading, all funds in our secure client accounts would be returned to guests. This process is managed by our bank, Starling, ensuring your money is always protected.
  • Can I Move My Booking to Another Date or Property?
Once your booking deposit has been paid, your reservation is confirmed. This means your chosen dates and property are secured exclusively for you and are no longer available for anyone else to book. If you need to make changes outside of the cancellation policy window, amendments may be possible. However, if your booking falls within the cancellation period or you’ve selected a non-refundable rate, changes cannot be made. For full details, please refer to our Terms and Conditions. If you’re unsure, our team is always happy to assist.
  • Is Rowes Retreats ATOL or ABTA Protected?
    • ATOL (Air Travel Organiser’s Licence) applies to UK travel companies offering flights and air holiday packages. • ABTA (Association of British Travel Agents) is a membership body that protects holidaymakers booking through travel agencies and tour operators. As Rowes Retreats is not a travel agency or airline, we are not a member of ATOL or ABTA. If you have any concerns or questions, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with our team!
